Bel-Aire Veterinary Hospital, Inc. has been serving the Northwest Guilford County area since 1991.  Our knowledgeable staff provides personalized, friendly, and compassionate care for your pets.  We appreciate your trust in us and will treat your pets as if they are our own.

We are a full service hospital providing routine wellness care, as well as, surgery, dentistry, radiology, and Class IV laser therapy.  We strive to keep up with the latest technology.  Our clients may  make appointments, receive reminders and newsletters on line or mobile phone. Medications and special diets can beordered on our online pharmacy.  Boarding and grooming are also available.

    Veterinarian

    •  1978 Graduate of Rapid City Regional Hospital School of Nursing and worked in Surgery as an R.N. for 10 years
    •  1988 Cum Laude Graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine
    •  Worked as Associate Veterinarian for Reidsville Veterinary Hospital for 2 years, then opened Bel-Aire Veterinary Hospital with her partners
    •  Member of NCVMA, AVMA and CCVMA since 1988
    •  President of Central Carolina Veterinary Medical Association for 2 years
    •  North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association District Representative for 4 years
    •  North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association 2003-2004 Vice President.
    •  North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association 2005-2006 President.

    •  Loves living in the country with her husband and 6 cats.

  • Kristin Smith

    Office Manager

    Kristin started with us as a veterinary assistant and kennel manager.  She grew up in the Stokesdale area and graduated from Northwest High School.  She took 1-1/2 years of computer science at Rockingham Community College.  She started work here about 8 months before she married her husband, Brian.  They have two happy and handsome sons who have practically grown up at out hospital, .  Her experience with computers has been a great help to us.  She has become an integral member and is proficient in customer service, ordering, assisting the doctors in medicine and surgery.  We depend on her greatly. Kristin has many interests including raising her children, cooking, decorating, horseback riding, church activities, camping, and enjoying her house in the country.

    Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

    Ruth started working here when she was in high school.  She has worked her way from the kennels to being a versatile employee throughout the hospital. She is detail oriented and loves to please the clients and their pets.  She is only working on Mondays because she is busy taking care of her 3 young children. We are counting on her coming back when the kids are in school.

    Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

    Ashley started with us as a kennel assistant in August 2008. She quickly worked up to veterinary assistant/receptionist.  She spent her childhood on her family's horse farm in Madison, NC. Her love for animals guided her into the veterinary profession.  She obtained her veterinary assistant certificate in 2010.  Ashley lives In Stokesdale with her husband and son. They have 3 dogs and a horse.  In her spare time she enjoys camping, horseback riding, church activities, and spending time with her family.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Tarra joined us in August 2016 when she moved from New Jersey to be near her parents in Summerfield, NC.   She has 14 years of experience in small animal veterinary hospitals in New Jersey.  She complete two years of Criminal Justice Curriculum at Atlantic Community College. She was more interested in working with animals and started working at an animal shelter.  Tarra met a veterinarian that trained her to work in her practice as an assistant in medicine and surgery.  SHE LOVES HORSES. Tarra spends most of her free time with her 3 horses and 2 dogs.

    Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

    Sarah started here after graduating early from Northwest Guilford High School.  Growing up in Colfax, her family has been bringing their pets to see us since '94, so she was thrilled to join a practice that was so familiar.  Sarah started working as a kennel assistant and with training, has now moved on to vet assistant and receptionist.  Currently in school to become a registered veterinary technician, she is motivated and always eager with each patient.  We enjoy helping her with her degree and she is excited to learn alongside Dr. Packard and staff.  She is very nurturing and detail-oriented.

  • Miriam Faley

    Kennel Manager

    Miriam moved with her family to North Carolina from Pennsylvania in 1975.  She has adapted well to the southern way of life and sometimes breaks with a little southern drawl. She graduated from high school in 1988 and attended UNC-G in the late 80's and early 90's.  She has worked in animal care for over a decade. She likes to get to know all the animals that board with us and their individual quirks.  Miriam has a great love for art and music.  She is responsible for many of our arts and crafts projects. She does our message board and did the paintings in her photo that hang in the kennel area. She LOVES Dr. Who, her 2 cats, and VW Bugs. Miriam is a foodie and particularly loves Mediterranean  food.

    Heather has been at Bel-Aire as a part time kennel helper since May 2016.  She mainly works weekends during the school year taking great care of the animals.  She is busy playing soccer for her high school during the week.   Her desire is to attend vet school after graduation
